Hi Jim,

As a rule, I don't do covers.. and I don't think covers should be mixed with your own songs during a gig. It might divert attention from your own songs. On the other hand, a lot of artists/bands have gained a lot of attention through making a cover song... And it is probably a smart thing to do, seeing that the song you cover usually has already proven itself, and a re-release in the form of a (good!) cover version has a good chance of appealing a new (younger) crowd (who might not even have heard the original), and maybe even the people who do know the original.

It's David from DevDays. How have you been? I was browsing StackOverflow python questions when I cam across your profile.

I don't know a lot about performing, but playing a cover as your second song sounds like a good idea -- as long as you do it well.
